Life is so fragile…
My friend Brooke put a link on her blog to include sweet little boy Bronson in our prayers and thoughts. I was curious what Bronson’s story was… naturally I linked myself over to this family’s blog …

I’m grateful I read his story and can hold my baby close to me tonight. Too many times I find myself doing MANY careless things as a mother.

Taking my eye off Everest in Wal-mart.
Leaving him in his high chair with Little Einstein’s on, breakfast on his tray and me in the shower.
Sick and tired of getting after him for playing with every electrical plug… finding myself allowing him to play with it after all.
Running to put away a basket of laundry really quick while he is in the tub (mind you our apartment is the size of a large master bedroom).

After tonight I’ll NEVER do any of these careless acts again.

::Life really is so fragile::

After I got done reading this blog my head is hurting, my eyes are burning and my nose is running from sobbing over the reality that this family is dealing with tonight.
When I hear stories… as we all do… I find myself getting so emotionally involved and worked up over them for weeks or months over these sad sad situations in life that happen. Part of me is always grateful to have heard these stories. I feel like they are ways to warn me to be careful of what is really important in life… my family!

Taking a shower can wait until Everest’s nap time.
No load of laundry or mess in the house is EVER more important than my little one!

My kids are mine and Aaron’s life!
Sure it’s an exhausting job and can really work me over some days. But, even in those days that are really exhausting I still ALWAYS find myself hugging and endlessly kissing my little Everest because I love him SO much.
It really is the best, beyond best thing to be a mommy!

So tonight I’m reevaluating all my LAXED mothering. And, I will be better from here on out.
As of tomorrow…
Everest’s cry out for me in the morning at the crack of dawn… won’t seem so early or so painfully loud.
His urge to drag every single blanket in the house and pile them up in different places… won’t seem so annoying.
He flings his food off his highchair when he is done eating … that mess tomorrow won’t seem so burdensome to clean up.
The 5 hats he makes me stack on my head while I cook dinner will seem joyful rather than unnecessary.

After all he is still in my arms at the end of the day and I love that best about my day tomorrow!
As for Bronson and his family… is all I can do tonight is pray for them!... so can you.

Baby Boy

BABY BOY!!

4 months or 18 weeks along and healthy as a little peach!

::Aaron and I were both 100% sure that it was a little girl. So this little guy put us for a big surprise! I honestly couldn't be any more excited! Now I'll have triplets... Aaron and, two Aaron look alike's! Everest and this baby are so close in age that it makes me really excited to be having another little busy boy! They are going to be the best little buddies! I cant wait!

the test never lies....

That’s right we did it again….
My due date is July 8. So, according to the doctor I am 9 weeks along and counting. Aaron and I couldn't be any more excited! Honestly, it feels like our little dreams are coming true!!! It might sound sappy but we really cant wait to get this little one here already!

So, I consider myself a surrogate mother to Everest...Why?... Because somehow my genes completely bypassed Everest and he came out looking like an EXACT carbon copy of his dad!... I love it.... And,I cant wait to see the next version of Aaron in girl or boy form!

My little "pancita" isn't so little.... I've already got quite the bulge! Since I'm coming home to Utah next week {yeah!!} I decided I should get the word out so everyone can know this "pancita" is due to a baby and not just "fat girl" syndrome!

Wish me luck, because I still have a crazy and violent toddler I'm chasing around this time!

PS. How is it that my mom had 5 kids! Really how do women do this over, and over, and over, and over AGAIN!!

It was gorgeous! { I really didn't get any pictures of Colorado} However, it was packed full of farms in the fall time. This drive came at a perfect time... all the leaves were changing and it couldn't have been more beautiful!

Final stop of the day: New Mexico

It's landscape was much different from Utah and Colorado's.... but, equally as beautiful!

Dear New Mexico,

We enjoyed your different landscape and your beautiful sun set. However, "new" Mexico reminds us of Mexico. Stray dog's were everywhere, and bars were over all your simple gas stations. When we pulled over to the side of the freeway around 10 pm {due to our NEVER sleeping Everest} we felt like some man eater was going to come and drag our dead corps into your landscape. Thanks to my vanilla for packing some heat to keep us all safe!!

Good night Albuquerque, NM...

All-n-all it was a beautiful day! We honestly can say we really enjoyed the drive. Both Aaron and I haven't been to NM before so it was a fun little adventure. Aside from the beauty.... Aaron drove the truck and Everest and I set sail alone in the car. That in and of itself was an ADVENTURE!! We left Utah at 10 am and landed in Mexico around midnight! {yes... midnight} I think it could go down as the longest day ever!

Intel

So, a lot of people have been asking me what exactly I'm doing with the military, and why we are moving to Texas for 5 months. I just figured I would make a post to explain it. Sorry its not political.

So, basically I have been an enlisted mechanic for the last four years for the guard. A couple weeks ago I made a career change to Military Intelligence. It is still one weekend a month, two weeks a year, and it is not an officer's position. It is still enlisted. Along with every other career field in the military, training is required before you can actually work in the job. So, that is why we are moving to Texas.

When a lot of people hear military intelligence they think I have a hush, hush, Jason Bourne like job, and that I am probably going to be hunted down torched and killed. That is definitely not the case. I fly a desk for my new job. We do constantly work with international issues which has become somewhat of a passion of mine over the last few years. So, although I am in a desk I am very excited for this job..

So that's the 411. We're really excited. Not so much for San Angelo, but we're both really excited for the new job.

Oh my gosh!
So instead of me being on the phone to friends, family and neighbors I’ve decided to publicly announce my journal entry for the week.
Eh-hem...
Here it goes…On Monday Aaron got a new job! YEA! We are thrilled and excited about this job! He was picked out of 80 applicants and, I am very proud of him. Then today Aaron got a call from the air guard saying that a class date for his tech school training was opened for us to be there on oct. 16! So now we have to move to Texas next week. Um.. ya… NEXT WEEK! You can only imagine when Aaron got off the phone.. I think we both sat on the couch numb and life started in slow motion. In fact the past few days life have been in slow motion...I have to have everything ready to go by next week and, be mentally prepared for a 3 day drive to TX with an 18 month old. Ehhh!! And, finnaly...we found out the class date is set in stone!!! And, the military will find us our housing and pay for the U-Haul and all moving costs! YEA! This may not sound like a big deal to most people but for the past few months it has been one thing after another and, another and, another! One thing is for certain we certainly are being watched out for! One day everything feels impossible! The next day all of those imperfections completely line up and become perfections!

So with all that being said….

That's right!... we honor governors day here in Utah!

Don't mind the fact that I honestly didn't know who our new govn-a was...but, vanilla was honoring him!

My skirt...

I made this skirt... and I want to make more! I think this time I am going to do it... and, start my own little etsy shop.

Here is the thing. For some reason I act like I am some sort of an entrepreneur. Within the past year I have come to Aaron with at least 3 different "businesses" I want to start. When I say "business" I of coarse mean some sort of DIY project of mine that I want to sell. I always seem to get overwhelmed with the idea and just stop... dead in my tracks of becoming a millionaire!

He is wild, crazy and has a rat tail...yes, I did just say rat tail! He recently got his 2nd hair cut and this time his daddy really carved a nasty {slash} adorable rat tail into his little buzzed hair-doo. He has been bumped around moving from place to place and meeting { slash } living with new people for the past few months that I think it is a little tough on him. He thrives off of routine... and, after this curve ball of a summer he has everything but routine in his life. He really does make mine and Aaron's life so exciting and very unpredictable... the "terribles" have started... that's for sure!

Organic VS. non-Organic

I have never played a part in the whole "ORGANIC LIFESTYLE" until... my baby boy Everest started drinking whole milk a few months ago. Now I pay around $4.50 for a half gallon of "organic" milk. I just realized Everest drinks a TON of milk and this whole "organic" lifestyle is braking the bank!!

We have all heard that non-organic milk holds hormones and antibiotics ... Sorry, but I don't want my baby to start growing a mustache at ten!

I have been reading up on it and most places say there is no difference between "organic" milk and Non-organic milk!

*Help*

Please let me know what you think or have found out about the whole "organic" milk situation!

Aaron graduated on Friday from the University of Utah and, I am soo proud of him! He is the hardest worker I know and he makes mine and Everest's life better everyday because of it! A BIG congratulations to you babe!!

We did it... we went to a " Tea Party" last week!

Aaron and I are sick of yelling at the TV about Obama or all the other "blah, blah, blah" stuff that is going on in washington today. It felt great to be part of a little political movement that was standing up for somethings we stand by!

I can NOT believe he is already one year old! It was a bitter sweet day for me... Honestly, the other night I found my self weeping and whaling and gnashing my teeth over the fact that he was turning ONE! No one ever told me that it's sad to watch your babies grow up...{ha ha and he is only one} Everest is a HUGE ray of sunshine in mine and Aaron's life and we will love him forever and ever!!

I cant help but confess my love for anything with butter, sugar or white flour!...

My mom got Aaron and I a dozen of Lion House rolls today and with no surprise Aaron inhaled 5 rolls in the first half hour we had them.

I'm an eater... and not afraid to confess that I cant stop eating these amazing rolls with honey butter.

I am on the verge of scoping the honey butter up like ice cream...

alright alright I'll stop!

But, honestly do your self a favor try Lion House rolls with honey butter!! AMAZ!

Yes, it's true we did survive the two and a half weeks with out husband and dad...

I was definitely kept busy with my sisters and family all around. Jessica & Jason came out just for the weekend. It was such a short trip that it honestly FLEW by!! It's always fun having my sisters around... we just laugh laugh and laugh together! They are hilarious!! We love eating, staying up late and talking {while our kiddo's are asleep}!.... the main subject seems to always be pregnancy...With 5 girls in the family there seems to always be someone pregnant! For now.... Jessica and Cami are the lucky ducks!!

Thanks to the visit of Melissa I actually had a fun time while Aaron was away. She says she came out "just because" but, I like to think that she came out because she wanted to have a girls only week!! All growing up Melissa has been my little watch dog... she has ALWAYS been looking out for me! Thanks for coming out to Utah Mel!

I hate goodbyes!

Today we sent Aaron off on a short deployment to Turkey. He is gone for only two and a half weeks but.... I acted like he was going for two years.

I felt like Jim Carey on Dumb and Dumber. When he says, "I hate goodbyes".

I Love this man!

Time goes by way too fast when you're having fun!

I hate how true that saying really is! Since the day I had Everest time has flown by!

I hate to think how fast my little boy is going to grow up... I guess that is just life!

Everest kept trying to pull his hat off until the moment he saw his daddy with his hat on.

He looks like such a big boy here!

He constantly has to have it.

He snuggles it all around his face and says mmmmmm...mmmmm...mmmmm... Sometimes he has to hold it all through breakfast. At different times in the day I can find him trying to reach his little hands into his crib to snatch his blanky.

Who knows where he learned how to clap but, here he is clapping away. He had just woken up from a nap last week and was so hyper that his little hands just started flapping together... It was hilarious!....

Like I said before time is flying by while I am having so much fun with Everest!

Aaron’s favorite restaurant is The Bombay House. Saturday night Aaron NEEDED nan CRAVED nan so he attempted to make his own nan bread! It was delicious! I think this is the first time I have ever seen Aaron cook…who knew!

It didn’t surprise me that the bread turned out so good…Aaron is good at basically everything he does!

Samantha Clark is a 3 year old little girl here in Utah who has cancer for the third time. I don't know any details really about her. Other than she is a little girl who has to go through horrible cancer treatments. I found out about her from abc 4 news. They have a donation account opened up at Zions Bank. If you would like to donate a dollar or two I think that could help out her and her family.

Everest slept in this morning... he woke up at 11:25 AM.

AMAZING!!!

I woke up at ten and thought I had died or even worse that Everest was dead!

I peeked into his room only to find him snoring!

This by far is the best present of the New Year for me!

Everest had his 9 mo. wellness checkup this week and the doctor told us he is only 2% in his weight. We have a skinny little man who is VERY active. He is a bottom less pit…really! He is always eating! So we have to meet with a dietitian this week. The worst part of it all was the fact that he had to get his blood drawn yesterday for some tests. He actually did really well considering the circumstances.

But than I got a phone call this morning from the nurse saying they messed up. The nurse put his blood into the wrong test tube….so back we went to primaries to get his blood drawn AGAIN!! Don’t worry they were very apologetic but than they gave us a cute little student nurse to draw blood from my tiny little tater-tot’s arm! AHH! She turned into the “Roto Rooter” in his arm. She had to rummage around forever to find his vein!

I was screaming inside!! Everest was crying… I was crying… and I almost passed out! Ha ha!

Good thing Aaron was there to save the day! I know he is fine and healthy…he just might never get those chubby little baby thighs!

Draper Temple

Last night we were able to go on a tour of the Draper Temple. We got a "special" invitation through my father in-law at the national guard. It was by FAR the most beautiful temple on the inside that I have ever seen!! This picture doesn't do it justice. I am really excited for the dedication so that we can go back again soon.

( if I didn't have the history of getting married in the SLC temple I would say that this temple was my one favorites!)

Everest was hilarious through out the whole tour he kept talking because he could hear his own voice echoing in the empty temple. ( Sorry that's probably only cute to Aaron and I)

For the past 4 nights Everest has only woken up once in the night! I fell like a miracle has happened literally over night... before this he was waking up around 4 times a night!! Yes, that's right my eight month old was waking up almost more than a newborn baby! Dark circles around my eyes cease to exist!

Lets ALL pray my near toddler starts sleeping through the night!

I said “good bye” to Aaron this morning because he is officially in the mist of finals. Which means

Angela + Aaron + finals = NEVER SEEING EACH OTHER
Oh glorious finals how I HATE finals!!
Finals are a life ruiner… they ruin peoples lives!
I know Aaron’s life is being ruined because of them!!
Somehow Aaron turns into this super robot when it comes to school work. His alarm goes off at 6:30am he pops out of bed, burns through a long day of class, hibernates in the library and has demanded no phone calls or lunch or dinner breaks until his work is finished. Who is this man? Aaron or Robot?... no one knows!

Good luck little hubby of mine!! These next two weeks are a tough one for you! I know you can’t wait for December 17 @ 5:30pm when your last final of the hardest semester of your entire life will be over!!
…So until December 17 Everest and I will have a whole lot of mommy and baby time!

My newest baby niece is now one week old!!

Olivia was born last week and we are so happy she is here!
Olivia had to get surgery right after he was born because some of her lower intestines were born on the outside of her tummy. However, taking the circumstances she is doing really well! She hit a mile stone yesterday…they started feeding her breast milk and she is digesting it really good! I can’t image having to see my new little baby in the hospital hooked up to monitors. I just want Melissa and Tyler to know that we love them and are giving them our love and support all the way!

The Infamous pedal!!

Aaron is currently fixing up a road bike. He has been really excited about this project of his. Today he came home from school completely puzzled looking for the pedal to his bike. He went outside to his car thinking he may have left it in there… well he certainly did find it in his car… except it was on top of his trunk!! He put it there this morning while putting something else into the car and left it there for the long ride to the University. He drove from our house…on the freeway…parked it at school…back onto the freeway…and now safely parked into our driveway. This was Aarons face when he walked in with his pedal!! I’d like to call this, “pulling an Aaron”! (This isn’t the first time he has left something on the top of his car!!)... Oh Aaron I love ya!!

Think PINK!!

It's breast cancer awareness month and I wanted to remind everyone to THINK PINK!!! 1 in 8 women get breast cancer... My mom is a fighter and survivor from breast cancer. I saw her fight her way through the painful process of chemotherapy and radiation. Even though I am soooo blessed to have my mom here today... there are 40,000 people each year in the US alone who die from it. I can't let this month go by with out saying, " Stand up to cancer and help fight for the cure!!!"

Everest's favorite show is LITTLE EINSTEINS... I know you may all be wondering how a baby could ever like TV. However, it's true!! Everest laughs and smiles at the TV when we put on Little Einsteins! And his crush is ANNIE!! The cute little blondie. He ALWAYS laughs at her!!

Husband

Our three weeks of summer break are now to an end! It was a ton of fun having Aaron out of school!! We tried to play as much as possible and stay up late every night. Aaron is the hardest worker I know and not to mention how he NEVER complains about his busy, busy life. He makes it easy for me to love the heck out of him every day!! Just eight more short months babe and then your oust of school! Good luck this school year!

I thought my life was crazy with one child... think again! Have you ever seen this show? John and Kate had a set of twins at first and then sextuplets...that's right six kids from one pregnancy!! Every time I get done watching this chaotic show I realise how easy I have it with just one child! Summer 2008

Alright, sorry it has taken so long to update this thing, but we both have just been super busy. So give us a brake. Anyway, we just got back from Bear Lake which rocked. Who ever thought the water at Bear Lake was cold.. It was so nice, seriously one of the best vacations ever. The whole family was even there, minus skinny dave, and Zek!! P.S. Matt and Natalie are skinny, so good for them!! And F-u Skinny Matt for getting all those tags!!

Anyway, things are good. I have one more final to take and I am done with summer school.. Summer school sucks, so don't ever go.. Angela is at home taking care of Everest and doing an amazing job at that.. We're both way excited that all I'll have to do for a few weeks is go to work at the guard, so it will be nice to spend more time together, we are going to party!!

Angela is rocking the house at being a mom. we love the little guy being around. He's a pretty serious little man, and if he stays like that he will definitley be the only one in our family. Happy Birthday to Everest!!

So, here he is!! This is the newest member of the Angela & Aaron Hooper Family.. He didn't want to come out, so the doctor had to do a C-section.. Angela has been a trooper all day, and did such a good job!! So, we are super happy that he is finally here. He weighed about 7 lbs 9 oz and is 20 and 1/2 inches long.. Hes got quite a bit of hair too..
