San Antonio:: Sea World!

sea world was perfect for us. we were there only for the short four hours little everest could handle and the weather was perfect. turns out sea world has become more of an amusement and water park. however, the "fish" tanks they do have were too much fun!
i should say... everest's reaction to all the fish was too much fun to see!
have i mentioned having kids is fun!
who else is slightly scared that shamu is going to attack this trainer?
a TIGHT hold on daddy!... sea lions were slightly frightening for the little one!
aaron's dream came true ... he finally got to touch a dolphin!
congrats aaron!

San Antonio :: river walk

i will forever love this picture because... after i took the picture this is how our conversation went
aaron: " are you okay?"
me: " ya, why?"
aaron: " your face is bright red!"
it felt like 95 degrees in san antonio {aaron says it was only around 73 degrees}
i'm sorry! ... tack on this chubby belly and you'll feel like it's 95 degrees!
i think the only thing i kept on talking about was how HOT it was!
{ remind me NEVER to be pregnant in the summer AGAIN!!}
this picture would explain how HORRIBLE everest was on the river walk.
note to everyone out there:: the river walk is a date night ONLY kind of a place.
not for kids!

San Antonio :: Part 2

the alamo
::
this was the one place aaron really wanted to go in san antonio and we got there 5 minutes before it closed. he snapped this quick picture of a chandelier in the alamo before his camera nearly got confiscated from the "museum police". aaron and i were amazed by how small the people used to be back then. the beds were the size of everest's crib.
it made me fall even more in LOVE with my king sized bed...
{if that was possible!}

ps. i LOVE me some mr. mom!

San Antonio :: part one

Have you ever heard of a show called Dinners Drive-Ins and Dives?

The Cove was featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives and we went to it in San Antonio! It was a small dream coming true for Aaron and I. We love watching shows that are all about amazing food and where to find it.
We both ordered the lamb sandwich that was recommended by Guy himself.
Turns out it was nothing shy of a.m.a.z.i.n.g!

Blog A*Day March :: Day 21,22,23

Let's be honest ... my Blog A*Day March isn't working!
I'm approaching my third trimester and I can tell my energy level is running lower and lower...
I have an entire house to box up before next week.
And, lets not forget my fun skirts I'm sewing on the side!
Oh-yeah and than there is my little Everest... Who is quite the hand full for me lately!
::
Note from today::
I found myself day-dreaming about my hospital visit here in July. I oddly caught myself viewing my "stay" at the hospital as a hotel visit!
ha ha
It really will feel like a spa retreat!
Room service is the only way you eat. At the push of a button someone comes and takes my crying baby. I get a big bed all by myself, and the best part of it all ... I'm pumped up with medicines to make sure I'm comfortable, relaxed, and sleeping well!
ahhhh...
It's time for a break!
I would LOVE a long date night with my husband alone with no children.
{Sorry, Everest! I still love you!}
*Please forgive me Blog A*Day March but... my battery is running low when it comes to blogging!

Blog A*Day March :: Day 18

I'm in a dry spell...
::
However, since I'm in a dry spell from blogging... I've been thinking.
Thinking of how my whole life I dreamed of being exactly where I am at today.
I went from a little girl who spent every waking moment dreaming of the day when I would someday have a handsome husband and babies all around me that I could take care of and love.
I guess it's just hit me that I am actually living my childhood dream.
Everyday my cute husband walks through the door and gives me a kiss hello.
My baby boy yells out for me every morning and reminds me that yes, I am a mama! He toddles around while I get to heed to his every beck and call.
I wipe his tears when he falls and I snuggle him to sleep each day.
I am reminded by the strong beating kicks of our youngest baby boy that I will become another mama yet again.
And, the crazy thing of it all... is I LOVE it.
It's everything in ONE!
:: love, joy, exhausting, emotional, rewarding, thrilling, frustrating, teaching ::
{ the list could go on and on}
I love you Aaron, Everest, & babe!

Blog A*Day March :: Day 16

Have you read this?...

Aaron and I read this book almost two months ago and it has completely improved the way we eat.

I've been recommending it to EVERYONE!

Honestly, I've always been conscious of the food I ate but after reading this book it helped educate me a little more on how I can eat better.

The book lays out a list of "food rules" for you to follow and that's exactly what I've been following.

"They" say it takes 21 days to make a habit... So I'm guessing I've made a habit to put better food into my body.

::

Here is a small preview of the Food Rules.

#39. Eat all the junk food you want as long as you cook it yourself.

#38. Favor the kinds of oils and grains that have traditionally been stone-ground.

#23. Treat meat as a flavoring or special occasion food.

#22. Eat mostly plants, especially leaves.

#20. It's not food if it arrived through the window of your car.

#14. Eat foods made from ingredients that you can picture in their raw state or growing in nature.

#13. Eat only foods that will eventually rot.

#9. Avoid food products with the wordoid "lite" or the terms "low-fat" or "nonfat" in their names.

#7. Avoid food products containing ingredients that a third-grader cannot pronounce.

#5. Avoid foods that have some form of sugar (or sweetener) listed among the top three ingredients.

#3. Avoid food products containing ingredients that no ordinary human would keep in the pantry.

Blog A*Day March :: Day 15

What a night Everest must of had!!
This is how he woke up... it was too funny for me not to take a picture!
Seems like I'm loosing my gusto and steam for Blog A*Day March ...
eh...
I'm NOT normally a "daily" blogger. I usually just blog when I feel like blogging. Weather that's once a week, or once a month... whatever!
::
Well, were half way through the month.
Which means.... I started boxing up my house today!... Just 15 more days and were on our way!
Aaron and I are excited to move onto the next chapter in our lives!
4 months in Utah .... than 3 years in Idaho for law school
Yea, were ready to get things going!

Blog A*Day March :: Day 14

My take on "Rattle Snake Roundup"...

1st : Smallest Wal*mart I have ever seen! { it should be in Ripley's Believe It or Not}

2nd: This is Aaron M.A.D. that he is in bumper-to-bumper traffic in the smallest town known to man!!

3rd: There were a few of these pits where they would milk the rattle snakes and showcase them off to the crowds.

It was sick, wrong and seemed plain s.t.u.p.i.d that this guy was walking around with piles of rattle snakes at his feet!

4th: Everest LOVED the snakes and, Aaron...was sick of the snakes!

5th: Everest was yelling and banging his heart out at the glass... he LOVED the snakes!

GOOD BYE Sweetwater, Texas!

I don't think we will ever be back to your famous Rattle Snake Round Up!

DAY 13

So this is Aaron. I’m taking over for Angela on today’s post. We had an incredibly eventful day 13. Sweetwater, TX is home to the nations largest “Rattle Snake Roundup.” The town is supposedly extremely overpopulated with rattlesnakes, so decades ago farmers got together and started rounding em’ all up. Apparently over the years it has turned into quite an event… I think everyone in west Texas was there today, and let me tell you, that was quite the culture shock… I have never seen so many mullets in all my life… The most Texas of the Texans were certainly in attendance. Anyway, here are some pictures. I guess its normal for the people of Sweetwater to wade in pools of rattlesnakes and think nothing of it… Seriously, there were men in these rattlesnake corrals who would walk through the rattlesnakes as if they were dirt on the floor…
This is Everest's try at a cheesy smile... I guess he thinks closing his eyes has something to do with it..

What? They make military hats small enough for Everest?

Have I seen anything more cute than Everest feeling so proud to walk around looking like his dad?... Nope!

Blog A*Day March :: Day 9

skirts, skirts, SKIRTS!
I'll admit I haven't made a skirt in six months and I had sooo much fun making this for my cute sister in law. I LOVE SEWING! It's so refreshing to get a raw piece of material and make it into something.
PS. I have a good handful of skirts hanging in my closet just waiting to be put on my Etsy shop. I know.. I know .. it's time I get my Etsy shop going...
eh...
{it's on my "to do" list}
Sadly the move here to TX put me behind on starting my Etsy shop. Than I've been handicap from the human I'm growing. Needless to say it's been a crazy 6 months! I'm afraid the next 6 months are only going to be just as crazy! However, I have a slight inkling that I'm going to have lots of lonely time on my hands when Aaron is in law school. I can start it than!
::
If you want a skirt I would L.O.V.E. to make you one!
XOXO

Blog A*Day March :: Day 7

To Do LISTS ::
I'll admit I am the QUEEN~ BEE of the classic "to do" lists.
... I have to do lists for the day ... Lists for the week ... A list of NEVER ENDING projects { Lately, this list only gets longer... not shorter} ... A list of NEEDS ... A list of only wants {These last two list's only get confusing when it comes down wanting/needing to accomplish them. }
yup!,
I think I've covered em' all!
Today I had some help from Aaron...
this is how it went...
Me: soooo... I was really wanting these two thrifty chairs I found. Aaaand, they are on sale for 50% off. Aaron: Babe, you have SO many other projects you want to do right now. If you honestly think you can get them done in 3 weeks than buy them. Me: Here is the thing... All my painting and sanding stuff is back in UT. But, I honestly do want them! I really will get them done... I want to learn how to reupholster! ... Than he gave me a little spill of how I really need to start finishing a project before I start a new one. He started listing all my many projects I have sitting in the cupboards or waiting for me back in UT. I knew he was right... {Aaron and I both have a little case of A.D.D. We're both great at starting lots and, lots of things ... And we're both great at getting distracted before that project is finished!.... Sorry, Everest and baby... your stuck with these gens!} ewwww... I hate It when he is right! With that being said... TO DO {MARCH} 1. finish Everest's quilt 2. finish Natalie's skirt 3. finish my little chalkboard 4. finish paper cutting "dinoride" 5. finish spring wreath 6. finish T-shirt project
*I'll post all projects when they are completed! Yeah! I'm so excited to get this list checked off!!
::
Love, you Aaron! Your ALWAYS good at helping me out!
XOXO
Angela

Blog A*Day March :: Day 4

Local thrift store shopping
"Christians in Action Thrift Shop" is our local DI.
I go there weekly looking for good fixer-up-er's. EVERY time I go I come home M-A-D. Why?
I'll tell you why...
The store calls themselves "Christin's in action" however they really aren't acting very Christin at all. All of the merchandise in the store is donated to them and than they turn around and sell it for a grundle of money!! I thought the purpose of these Christin thrift stores were to help needy people and to give unemployed people a job? I wouldn't consider myself needy and I cant afford 80% of this stuff.

::

Example:

NASTY chair that I don't like and think is hideous ...

Cost: 125$ { with rips, tears and, stains attached}

....................................................................................................

::

These are all my diamonds in the ruff that I really want. I would LOVE nothing more than to slap some paint on them and reupholster them until they shine.....

Buttttt I cant get myself to buy any of them because I know I could go to DI or on Craig's List in Utah and find all of these for a fraction of the cost!

Call me cheap buttt... I know a good thrifty buy when I find one

aaaand this isn't a good bargain!!

{Cost 99$}

{Cost 80$}

{Cost 90$}

{Cost 25$}
